4-H Volunteers build positive relationships and support youth voice

Your active and supportive involvement plays an important role in developing youth who are thriving, ready for life and ready for work

Building positive and developmental relationships

Volunteers make a positive difference in the lives of young people by nurturing positive, supportive and empowering relationships between youth and adults and youth and their peers. Learn more about how you can cultivate developmental relationships in our core skills videos.

All Minnesota 4-H volunteers must  complete volunteer screening, which explains the policies, expectations and vision of serving as a 4-H volunteer. All 4-H volunteers should genuinely enjoy young people and be committed to their positive growth and development. In return, Extension Center for Youth Development staff will provide training, curriculum, coaching and feedback for success.
