Role description for short-term volunteer
Purpose
Support the positive growth and development of each youth involved through project work.
Create opportunities for youth to learn, lead and serve.
Involve youth in becoming competent, caring and connected citizens of character in their community.
Time required
Varies by activity
You will
Work with 4-H staff and volunteers. Examples of roles may be assisting with various tasks such as event registration, tracking results, taking pictures, etc. You may need to have volunteer screening before you can do this.
Participate in volunteer development opportunities to learn new skills, and understand how to deliver a high-quality learning experience.
This role is ideal for people who
Can organize and motivate youth while nurturing positive youth development, decision making, responsibility, and leadership in youth.
Have a sincere interest in working with youth in an educational setting.
Can communicate effectively with youth, parents, and other adult volunteers and staff.
