Assess educational needs of 4-H animal science members and volunteers and develop and implement programs to meet those needs. Specific duties may include planning educational project meetings, supporting county fair programming, providing opportunities for project bowl and judging activities, etc.
Work with local 4-H governing body to assist with budget development and ensure that activities/events are within budget recommendations
Communicate work of PDC to staff, membership, and other appropriate committees via committee minutes, year-end reports, etc.
Work with 4-H program staff to determine if any recommendations for policy and guidelines are appropriate (local 4-H governing body will make final decisions). Uphold state and county policies and rules regarding animal science programs and activities
Program Development Committees meet four to five times each year with additional meetings as determined by the committee or as determined with 4-H staff
